1Overview

Mathematician (PhD, postdoc) transitioning into C/C++ development.

Hands-on experience with C++20 (research software and personal projects) and bare-metal development in C on STM32 (HAL, CubeMX, I2C/SPI/UART, sensors and I/O devices). Currently developing an STM32 C driver library. Also built a real-time C++ raytracer (60 fps on the CPU, profiled and optimised).

Background: 6 years of mathematical research (PhD and postdoc) in differential geometry, gauge theory, nonlinear ODE/PDE systems and numerical methods, including numerical solvers written in C++ and Python.

Targeting C/C++ roles in sensor fusion, control, DSP, or numerical simulation.

2.1Embedded device drivers

C driver library for external devices. Implements a platform-agnostic device interface; provides adapters for the STM32 HAL (I2C/SPI) and a simulated device. First driver: Invensense MPU-60X0 (burst reads, data-ready interrupts; rates, clocks, power modes, filters set via enums). Hardware logging via UART.
