Description

Wormholes are hypothetical models of spacetime describing traversable tunnels between asymptotically flat universes. They require support from so-called exotic matter, which can e.g. be modelled by a phantom(or ghost) field, and hence they are said to be haunted.

In my PhD project I studied haunted wormholes which additionally carry weak/electromagnetic charge in the form of a Yang-Mills field. In particular I showed the existence of sequences of solutions to the fully coupled system of haunted Einstein-Yang-Mills equations.

I also wrote a solver in Python (NumPy/SciPy) together with a search algorithm to find more novel solutions numerically (EinsteinYangMillsWormholes).
